BHSS Sopore students embark on eco-adventure through Ladua-Vijitop Trek
Sopore, June 12: BHSS Sopore conducted a one-day trekking expedition on the Ladua-Vijitop Trek Route in Rafiabad on Wednesday. This event aimed to promote outdoor adventure and raise awareness about the region's rich biodiversity.
Scores of students, along with staff members, participated in the trekking expedition. It was flagged off by Principal BHSS Sopore Mushtaq Sopori at 7:00 AM, accompanied by Master Ghulam Qadir Kachro, an eminent teacher and sports enthusiast from Sopore Town, Majid Jahangir Malik, and Rouf Chalkoo from the Cricket Association Sopore. The guests interacted with the participants and briefed them about trekking, sports, and academic-related matters.
The diverse group embarked on a one-day journey through the terrain of the Ladua-Vijitop Trek Route, demonstrating remarkable resilience and team spirit, making this journey both memorable and educational.
During the expedition, participants were involved in various activities, including wildlife tracking, identifying and recording sightings of local fauna and flora, ecological surveys, and collecting data on plant species and environmental conditions to aid in ongoing conservation efforts.
One of the trekker students expressed gratitude for the support of Principal Mushtaq Sopori, whose contributions were instrumental in ensuring the safety and success of the event. The participant students also extended heartfelt thanks to all participants, volunteers, and supporters, expressing their commitment to continuing efforts in promoting sustainable outdoor activities and raising environmental awareness.
