Bhalla seeks urgent post-flood relief, restoration measures

Jammu, Sep 17: Working President JKPCC Raman Bhalla has urged the government to expedite the restoration and reconstruction measures as people are facing lot of hardships in the absence of urgent restoration works. Highlighting the concern shown by a delegation of Simbal Camp residents of R S. Pura, regarding the numerous problems faced by the general public in the absence of restoration works of various kinds especially the road connectivity to different localities, power to several areas,requirements of poles , urgent need to restore power to agriculture sector to save the paddy crop etc, said a press release.

They complained that different localities are facing the dilapidated conditions of road links due to massive damage during the heavy rains besides power supply is badly affected especially to the irrigation purpose, damage to pump sets of farmers as a result the left out paddy crop is at the verge of getting destroyed.

The failure of the centre to provide comprehensive package has put the farming community in great distress.

Bhalla shared the concern of the inhabitants of border areas and described their demands quite genuine and asked the government to expedite the relief and restoration measures to give respite to the people.He said that the genuine issues of farming community should be addressed on top priority in order to save the paddy crop besides waiving of their KCC loans, financial help for damaged pump sets and soft loans of KCC and pump sets,waiver of power tarrif and free ration for six months.
