New Delhi, Nov 20: Bengaluru police have launched a massive search operation after a group of unidentified men, allegedly posing as RBI officials, intercepted an ATM cash van and escaped with `7 crore, The Hindustan Times reported. The heist took place near Ashoka Pillar on Wednesday while the van was transporting cash from a bank branch in JP Nagar. According to the preliminary probe, the suspects arrived in a car carrying a ‘Government of India’ sticker and stopped the vehicle under the pretext of verifying documents.

A CCTV clip from PTI has emerged showing the cash van leaving the bank just before the incident. Bengaluru Police Commissioner said that roadblocks have been placed across the city, with multiple teams deployed both on the ground and in control rooms to trace the suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
