BEI holds cross country run for students
Srinagar, June 6: Promoting physical fitness and an active lifestyle, Bilaliya Educational Institute (BEI) organised an invigorating Cross Country Run for its students along the picturesque Foreshore Road, Dal Lake. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of grades 4th to 10th, divided into three age groups: Under 12, Under 14, and 17.
The top three position holders in each age category were felicitated for their outstanding performances. In the Under 17 category, Amaar Zubair (9th Green) secured the first position, followed by Huzaif Showkat (9th Green) and Mir Hamza (10th Green) in second and third place, respectively. The Under 14 category saw Amaar (7th Blue) clinch the top spot, with Zehraan (6th Red) and Hassan Mughal (7th Blue) securing second and third positions. In the Under 12 category, Mohammad Azam Shah (4th Blue) emerged as the winner, while Muhammad Zaid Shafi (4th Orange) and Ahsanullah Khar (5th Red) claimed the second and third positions.
A special highlight of the event was the commendable participation of a student who, despite having a fractured arm, completed the run, demonstrating extraordinary spirit and determination. This student was specially felicitated for their remarkable perseverance.
The Cross Country Run was flagged off by Dr. G.N. Qasba, former SMC Commissioner and a physical health enthusiast. The event was graced by the presence of Chairman BEI Manzoor Wangnoo, parents, teachers, and other distinguished guests. Before flagging off the run, Dr Qasba emphasized the numerous benefits of such events, advocating for strong morals, quality education, and good health. Dr. Mudasir from the medical team also shared his insights on the importance of physical activities.
Chairman BEI Manzoor Wangnoo expressed his sincere gratitude to all the students for their participation and extended his thanks to Dr. Qasba for inaugurating the event. He also appreciated the medical team, school faculty, police, and administration for their support.
