Be prepared for power cuts in winter: Chief Minister

Srinagar, Nov 22: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Friday said that there would be power cuts in winter.

Speaking to reporters, the CM said: “To reduce the electricity shortage, I met the Power Minister in New Delhi. He sanctioned some additional quotas for Jammu and Kashmir. But we have to be prepared for this. There will be cuts in the winter.

I have told the Power Development Department (PDD) that where we will get fees as per consumption, there should be fewer power cuts. There should be less load shedding. We are hopeful that this year people will see some improvement in the power scenario in the winter.”
