Batote-Kishtwar National Highway 244 reopened

Ramban, May 28: Batote - Kishtwar National Highway 244 was reopened on Wednesday afternoon after remaining blocked for 48 hours in Kandni area. Official sources said Batote-Kishtwar National Highway 244 was reopened after NHIDCL cleared accumulated rocks, boulders from the road in Phagmullah, Kandi area of Kishtwar on Wednesday 5pm.

Batote - Kishtwar National Highway 244 got blocked on Monday 4pm after heavy rocks and boulders hit and blocked the road in Phagmullah Kandni area of Kishtwar district.

Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar personally monitored the road restoration work at Phagmullah, Kandni. It took 48 hours for NHIDCL to break and clear the rocks accumulated on National Highway 244 in the Kandni area. Sector Officer Traffic Police Kishtwar confirmed that Batote - Kishtwar National Highway has been re-opened. He said stranded traffic is being allowed to ply on either side towards Batote and Kishtwar.
