Basharat Colony residents decry dilapidated roads
Srinagar, Jun 17: Residents of Basharat Colony area of Gulshan Nagar B locality on city outskirts have expressed resentment over the failure of authorities to undertake repairs of dilapidated roads in the locality.
A delegation from the area said that in the absence of road repairs for several years, they face problems venturing out. “The roads in our areas have caved in at several places, besides other stretches have developed potholes. After the rains, these dilapidated roads turn marshy, making it impossible for residents to even walk on it. Vehicles also get stuck in the muddy road and get damaged,” a local said.
“We have been moving from pillar to post, but no action has been taken to repair the road. We make a fervent appeal to concerned authorities, including DC Srinagar and Chief Engineer R&B to look into the matter and direct the concerned officials to undertake immediate repairs of roads,” they said.
