Baramulla Writers Forum organises literary function

Baramulla, Oct 24: The Baramulla Writers’ Forum organised a very impressive literary function in the auditorium of Boys Higher Secondary School, Baramulla, in which the collection of Maqbool Firuzi’s short stories “Barg-e-Zareen” was released. 

Chairman Baramulla Working Journalists Association (BWJA) Qaramat Qayoom, President Baramulla Writers Forum Abdul Rashid Bhat, Fayaz Tilgami, Maqbool Ferozi and Javed Kakroo participated in the function. On the occasion Vice president of Baramulla Writers Forum and senior journalist Anzer Mohju managed the proceedings of the session. On the occasion a Mushaira was held in which various writers and poets of Baramulla besides prominent citizens of Baramulla participated. The poets who participated in the Mushaira included Fayaz Tailgami, Rashid Kanispori, Nazir Talib, Mushtaq Kirmani, Sheir Ali and Hussain Azhar.

Maqbool Ferozi is a prominent name among few great scholars of Islamic mysticism who has extraordinary expertise on the subject. Maqbool Ferozi is a scholar of persian literature. In seventies he did his masters and MPhill in Persian from Tehran University of Iran. He has greatly contributed to the development and promotion of Persian, Urdu and Kashmiri language and literature. After retiring from government service he has actively participated in research and creative work. His debut book “Tasawuf Par Islami Aur Irani Asraat” has been well received by the readers.
