Baramulla Job Fair connects youth with top companies
Baramulla, Apr 17: The District Employment & Counselling Centre (DECC) Baramulla, in collaboration with the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps, organized a Mega Job Fair on April 17 at the Chinar YUVA Centre, drawing a strong response from job seekers.
A statement said that the General Officer Commanding (GOC), Chinar Corps, along with the GOC of Dagger Division, visited the event and expressed satisfaction with its success in connecting valley youth with leading employers. The fair featured 28 reputed companies including PhonePe, Kia, SBI Life, Tata Winstron, ICICI Bank, Honda, PNB Metlife, Mahindra Motors, and LIC India, representing sectors such as IT, healthcare, banking, hospitality, retail, and manufacturing.
Participants benefited from on-the-spot interviews, career counselling, and upskilling workshops. The event also introduced self-employment programs and loan schemes to support aspiring entrepreneurs, the statement said
This initiative reflects a continued commitment to youth empowerment, employment generation, and economic growth in the region. The Indian Army remains dedicated to promoting peace, imparting skills, and integrating valley youth into the mainstream, helping them contribute to nation-building, it said.
