Bar Association of Kulgam elects new president, other office bearers

Kulgam, Oct 10: The Bar Association of Kulgam successfully conducted its general body elections witnessing enthusiastic participation from its electorate.

Out of 161 registered voters, 159 cast their votes, marking a high turnout.

In the keenly contested election, Mohammad Shafi Bhat emerged victorious as the new President of the Bar. For the position of Vice President, Sajad Ahmad Lone secured the seat.

The much-anticipated race for the post of Secretary saw Adv Najmu Sakib clinching victory for the second consecutive term, defeating his opponent Sajad Ahmad Bhat.

Meanwhile, the positions of Joint Secretary and Treasurer were secured by Adv Shaikh Mukhtar and Tariq Ahmad Raja, respectively. The newly elected body has resolved to bring about significant reforms within the Bar and has prioritised improving the administration of justice in Kulgam.

After the declaration of results, voters expressed optimism, hoping for great strides in the field of law and the effective redressal of their grievances and interests.
