Banned drugs tablets recovered in Rajouri
Rajouri, Jan 15: Police in Rajouri arrested a local man after recovering a big consignment of banned drugs tablets from his possession.
A team of police intercepted the accused in Rajouri town, police said. He was identified by police as Sheikh Azar (32) son of Rehmatullah resident of ward no 08 Rajouri.
A big consignment of banned drugs comprising of 7000 banned tablets (tranadol/tependadole) were recovered from his possession following which he has been arrested.
Police has arrested dozens of narcotic peddlers in last couple of months as they were found involved in peddling of narcotics and banned drugs. Recoveries have been made also.
Under zero tolerance policy towards drugs abuse, a number of notorious drug peddlers have also been detained under PIT NDPS Act in the district, police said.
