Srinagar, Aug 04: Students in Bandipora are at the receiving end due to the alleged flawed rationalisation of teachers.

Under the alleged garb of rationalisation of teachers, the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Bandipora reshuffled teachers from 75 different schools stating that the services of the masters and teachers will be utilised as resource persons in teacher deficient schools.

However, going by the official document it has been revealed that the rationalisation of teachers has been ordered on Man to Man basis, defeating the purpose of resource sharing in schools.

As per the official document, a teacher figuring at serial number six has been shifted from Primary school Zeban and posted at Primary School Check Madar. Surprisingly, the teacher figuring at the serial number seven in the same list has been shifted from Primary School Check Madar and posted at Primary school Zeban.

Such arrangement of teaching staff clearly indicates that the resource sharing is being done to favour blue teachers instead of addressing dearth of teaching staff in teacher deficient schools.

"Primary School Shaldub has two teachers for 75 students but no arrangement of resource sharing has been made for this school," an official said.

He said that the claims of resource sharing have fallen flat owing to the flawed arrangement of teachers.

"The authorities claim that one teacher from High school Bagh was shifted to Arin School because of low enrolment but a teacher posted at GHSS has been transferred to High School Bagh. This is totally man to man posting," the official said.

The official said that the flawed reshuffle of teachers and shifting their attendance disturbs the academics in the schools which leaves the students at the receiving end.

The authorities have claimed that teachers from main town Bandipora were transferred to upper belts to overcome the teacher deficiency. "But the authorities have shifted teachers from schools of upper reaches to lower belts," the official said.

Amid the hue and cry over the flawed rationalisation of teachers, the Deputy Commissioner Bandipora sought a report from the CEO Bandipora.

In the report, CEO Bandipora has stated that schools in upper belts of Zone Bandipora and Zone Quil Muqam various schools were currently understaffed and to mitigate this issue the services of teachers were being utilized from town areas to these upper region schools "only for one month."

The official document reads that the enrollment in schools in these upper regions was encouraging but the schools were teacher deficient.

"Teachers whose attendance has been shifted will serve in these schools for one month," it reads.
