Bandipora-Gurez road opens for traffic
Bandipora, April 6: The 85-kilometer Bandipora-Gurez road was thrown open for traffic on Saturday, officials confirmed to Greater Kashmir.
Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Gurez, Mukhtar Ahmad told Greater Kashmir that the traffic was allowed on the road on from Sunday morning.
He said that given the Eid celebrations ahead and keeping in consideration the emergency of stranded passengers traffic on Sunday will ply on both sides.
"By afternoon we have allowed traffic from Gurez to Bandipora, by late afternoon traffic will be allowed from Bandipora to Gurez," the official said.
He said from Sunday onwards one-way traffic would be allowed on the road as the conditions were slippery. The official said the vehicles with antiskid chains are being allowed to cross the TCP's (Trafic control points) at Tragbal and Kanzalwan.
