Balidan Stambh to be thrown open for public on Aug 15: Commissioner SMC
Srinagar, Aug 13: The Balidan Stambh, a memorial constructed in the heart of city in the memory of martyrs who have laid down their lives for the nation, is ready and will be thrown open for public on August 15.
This was stated by Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Dr Owais Ahmad on Tuesday.
Talking to reporters, the SMC Commissioner said “We had committed to keep the Balidan Stambh ready by August 15. It is ready now and people are requested to do visit the place and pay tributes to the great heroes,” he said.
Reported by news gathering agency Kashmir News Corner (KNC) the Commissioner SMC said there will be no entry fee for visiting the place.
The total cost of the project was rupees 4.8 Cr. On August 15 all necessary arrangement will be made available at the destination, he added.
