Bagh-e-Mehtab residents decry dilapidated roads

Srinagar, Sep 11: Residents of Jail Park Bagh-e-Mehtab Govt Colony have decried the failure of authorities to repair dilapidated roads in the locality.

They also rued the poor condition of the Children’s Park in the colony, saying it causes inconvenience to kids.

“The roads in our locality are dotted with potholes, and during rain,s we face problems to even venture out,” said a delegation from the area.

A few weeks back, SMC officials took measurements of the road stretch at select places. However, they did measure the road stretch near our colony. We believe that authorities are planning selective macadamisation. We urge authorities to undertake repairs of all roads in our locality,” they said.

The residents said that the Children’s Park is in shambles. “In the absence of watch and ward facilities, the park has become a hub of drug addicts posing a risk to residents. We appeal for prompt repairs and proper management of the park,” they added.
