Kupwara, Dec 19: The Maulana Anwar Shah Kashmiri Memorial Volleyball Tournament concluded with an exhilarating final match on Thursday, where the Badibhera Ballers triumphed over the Wawoora Warriors in a gripping contest.

After a series of intense rallies, the Badibhera Ballers clinched the championship, securing a cash prize of Rs 5000, while the Wawoora Warriors were awarded Rs 3000 as runners-up. The third-place team also received ₹1000, reinforcing the event’s goal of encouraging young talent to continue their pursuit of volleyball excellence.

Organised by the Warnow Volleyball Association with support from the Indian Army, this year’s tournament saw a remarkable turnout, with 18 teams from across the region competing for top honors. The event, held in the picturesque Lolab Valley, showcased the immense talent and enthusiasm for volleyball in the area, drawing spectators from various villages who gathered to cheer for their local teams.

This biannual tournament, which rotates between villages in Lolab Valley, serves not only as a sporting competition but also as a platform for fostering unity and promoting peace in the region.
