Bad company corrupts good morals
Like a delicate flower, a child needs tender care to grow and thrive. According to John Locke, a child's mind is a Tabula Rasa, or a blank slate, therefore our decisions shape them. Since a child's mind is not preprogrammed, their early experiences will influence their future experiences and life course.
Children's mentality, aptitude, inclinations, and temperament are socially created, which establishes the foundation for their social interactions as they grow up. The socially viable psychological, moral, ethical, and intellectual development of children is necessary to produce a productive generation. Put another way, a country's future can be predicted by looking at the socialization techniques used now.
Socialization is regrettably neither beneficial nor encouraging in our culture. Growing morally dubious inclinations among the nation's youth serve as a manifestation of this. Teenagers commit crimes that are costly to society and to them personally. Because wickedness and delinquent behavior are so common, youth is becoming more and more like the new generation in terms of thought and behavior. As a result, rather of being considered an anomaly, they are accepted as usual.
The inability of socialization agencies to successfully complete the process of enculturation is indicated by their inability to produce a productive and socially conforming generation. They have not done a good enough job of carrying out their duties.
The majority of kids start their first socialization process in their homes, which sadly are today almost non-existent. Many parents these days either ignore their kids completely or are extremely overly protective of them. Our society normalizes overindulging youngsters till adulthood and beyond, leaving the youth ill-equipped to face obstacles in the future. They are worthless in terms of enjoyment, wealth, or empathy for the suffering, aches, and cries of the underprivileged. Conversely, some parents fail to notice anything at all about their kids, which leads to antisocial behaviors and thoughts.
Schools play a role in the youth's deviance as well. The main goals of schools are rote learning and fabricated grades, not psychological and personal growth. Moral considerations, intellectual development, and ethics are no longer given priority in schools.
One's development and progress are also influenced by peer groups. The majority of kids associate with peers who don't always match their skills and perspectives. But this takes a long time for them to understand.
Delinquency and aberrations are typified by society. Kids copy what they see, whether it's fighting in the family, aggressive language, or broken kinship. Children's enculturation is negatively impacted when they are exposed to immoral and unethical behaviors at a young age.
Additionally essential to a child's socialization is the mass media. Children's minds have been inundated with numerous harmful inclinations from social media in particular, which only intensify as they become older.
An unproductive and criminal generation has been created in part by improper socialization and neglected enculturation. Limiting and suppressing their intellectual development will lead to antisocial behaviors that have unimaginable social implications. Since all socialization institutions bear some of the blame, institutions must be drastically changed in a way that is socially acceptable, morally upright, and progressive in order to help today's kids grow up to be productive people. The way youngsters are socialized now determines a society's destiny and future. As a result, we cannot leave this to chance and become forgetful.
