B2V5 event held at Fakir Gujri
Srinagar, Nov 8: Commissioner Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Vikramjit Singh Wednesday visited Fakir Gujri Panchayat in Harwan block of Srinagar district and presided over 5th phase of the ambitious “Back to Village” public outreach programme.
An official spokesman in a statement issued here said that he was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Muhammad Aijaz Asad and other senior officers.
During the visit, the Commissioner Secretary interacted with the public and undertook a review of progress achieved on the developmental front with a special focus on improving the socio-economic conditions of the local population and improvements made in the public services delivery mechanism.
Singh took stock of ongoing developmental works taken up in their areas under different schemes, inspected Primary Health Centre, Primary School Fakir Gujri, Anganwari Centre and other public welfare establishments and took stock of their functioning. He also inspected Shilaphalakam installed at a Fakir Gujri School and took part in Graha Parvesh of beneficiaries in PMAY-G houses on the occasion.
While inspecting the ongoing construction works on infrastructure upgradation of PHC, Fakir Gujri, the Commissioner Secretary was apprised that various steps have been taken to upgrade the healthcare facilities in the area to ensure all basic health facilities are provided to the local people at their doorstep.
Singh interacted with the doctors and other staff members in the PHC and stressed them to attend to patients compassionately.
The Commissioner Secretary also visited the Primary School Fakir Gujri and inspected the ongoing class work. He also interacted with the students and teaching faculty of the school.
Singh handed over a sports kit to the local youth club.
Similarly, the Commissioner Secretary also visited Anganwari Centre, Fakir Gujri and took a review about the implementation of ICDS schemes.
Later, Singh inspected the recently constructed house by a beneficiary under PMAY-Gramin of the area.
The Commissioner Secretary highlighted the importance of conducting the 5th phase of the “Back to Village” programmes.
He said that such programmes are being conducted to see development on the ground and bring the administration to the doorsteps of people to listen to their developmental issues and demands.
“Back to Village programme is an important initiative to bridge the gap between the administration and the people particularly living in remote and flung areas and heed them and address their issues on the spot,” Singh said.
