Azad,Omar, Altaf Bukhari, Sajad Lone, Sartaj Madni condemn killing

Srinagar, Feb 7: Senior political leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad, Omar Abdullah, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, Sajad Lone and Sartaj Madni have strongly condemned the killing of a civilian, Amritpal Singh of Amritsar (Punjab) by terrorists here this evening.

Former Chief Minister and Chairman of Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Ghulam Nabi Azad posted on X, “Saddened by the tragic loss of Amritpal Singh from Amritsar, Punjab to terrorism in Srinagar today. We condemn such senseless violence targeting non-locals and innocent lives. Our thoughts and prayers are with the other injured individuals for a speedy recovery. This cycle of violence must end.”

Former Chief Minister and Vice President of National Conference Omar Abdullah posted on X, “I unequivocally condemn the attack that claimed the life of Amritpal Singh and left another person fighting for their life in hospital. I send my condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased and prayers for the swift recovery of the injured person.”.

Former Minister and President of Apni Party Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari posted on X, “It is profoundly distressing to witness yet another instance of non-local workers falling victim to senseless brutality. One has lost his life, while the other remains critically wounded. These poor workers were here just to earn a livelihood for their families back in Punjab. Such incidents are deeply troubling and merit unequivocal condemnation by one and all in the strongest possible terms. I urge our security agencies to apprehend these terrorists as soon as possible so that they face the law of the land.”

Peoples Conference President Sajad Gani Lone has strongly condemned the killing. In a statement he said. "Yet another innocent life has been lost in this mindless bloodshed. These acts of violence are reprehensible and have no place in a civilized society. I hope peace prevails and the sanctity of human blood is preserved," he remarked.

Senior PDP leader and Chairman of party’s Parliamentary Board Mohammad Sartaj Madni expressed deep sorrow and condemned in the strongest terms the cowardly and shameful terror attack.
