In a message to his supporters, Azad expressed gratitude for their prayers. He said, “Thanks to your blessings, I am feeling better now. I will be back on the campaign trail for our candidates starting September 12. Let's work together to bring back peace and development in the region.”

Earlier, Azad had informed his party members and supporters that due to health problems, he would not be able to campaign in the assembly elections. He had urged candidates to make decisions on their own about whether to continue campaigning without him. Even he had given them the option to withdraw if they felt his absence would affect their chances.
