Avail benefits of government schemes: Director Sericulture to youth, farmers

Jammu, Jan 10: Director Sericulture J&K Ajaz Ahmad Bhat has exhorted the unemployed youth and farmers to come forward and get in touch with the department to avail all the schemes and benefits introduced by the government for their welfare.

Bhat was addressing the gathering during his visit to Kathua where he kick-started this season’s Mulberry plantation in Jammu division by planting a Mulberry Sapling in Mulberry Nursery here at Changram on January 9.

Speaking on the occasion the Director Sericulture J&K conveyed that about 5.50 lakh standard size Mulberry saplings would be distributed for plantation and 1.10 lakh Mulberry saplings would be distributed free of cost among the farmers of district Kathua. Besides, 36 lakh Mulberry cuttings and roots would be grown during the current season.
