Authorities to prepare district tourism plan in Ganderbal to boost local economy
The Ganderbal district in central Kashmir with its mystical green meadows, forests, streams and peaceful ambience has immense potential to attract tourists, but it could be offering more for visitors if several unexplored and untapped tourism spots can be brought up on its tourism map.
In order to attract more visitors to the popular destinations of the district, the district administration Ganderbal is set to prepare a district tourism plan to boost tourism prospects, as well as serve as a blueprint for district’s overall development.
Officials said the district administration has formulated a plan to explore tourism potential in Ganderbal district and generate employment opportunities for locals. They said that they have sought the suggestions from locals as well as the experts in the tourism sector.
"District Administration Ganderbal is currently in the process of finalising the District Tourism Plan, aimed at promoting and showcasing the rich cultural and natural heritage of our region. As part of this initiative, we are keen to identify and highlight unexplored tourist destinations in the vicinity that have yet to be included on the tourist map,” a notice from the administration reads.
“We invite the general public to share information about hidden gems, which possess tourism potential but remain undiscovered. Your contributions will not only aid in the development of our tourism sector but also create livelihood opportunities for the local communities. Your participation and inputs are crucial in shaping the tourism landscape of Ganderbal and ensuring its sustainable development," it added.
