Authorities seal Khidmat Centre for overcharging in J&K’s Banihal

Banihal, July 17: In response to a complaint about unauthorized extra charges, the Tehsil administration in Banihal has taken action by sealing a local Common Service Center/ Khidmat Center this afternoon and started further investigations.

Officials told Greater Kashmir that a local consumer lodged a complaint with the Tehsildar/ First Class Executive Magistrate Banihal, alleging that the service center, located on the old highway town in Banihal in district Ramban, allegedly charged Rs 2500 in online payment mode for preparing documents for legal heir certificate against its fixed service charges at Rs 610.

They said acting on a complainant Tehsildar Banihal Amjad Ali constituted an inspection team of three Naib Tehsildars and accordingly raided the center. The team seized some stamps also from the shop and following team's findings the officers sealed the service center and initiated a formal inquiry into the incident.
