Authorities order closure of schools in Gurez till March 15 due to heavy snowfall

Srinagar, March 13: Authorities have ordered the closure of schools in Gurez till March 15 due to heavy snowfall.

The Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Gurez has ordered
the closure of all schools in Gurez Subdivision in view of heavy snowfall and the accompanying avalanche threats.

The order said that due to the prevailing weather conditions the movement of students and staff could be hampered and keeping in view the safety concerns the schools should remain shut.

“Considering the safety and well-being of all concerned, it is hereby ordered that all schools of Gurez Subdivision shall remain closed up to 15th March 2025,” the order read.

The heads of institutions have been directed to ensure compliance of the order.
