Authorities issue election notification for Anantnag-Rajouri Parliamentary Constituency

Srinagar, Apr 12: Authorities have issued election notification for 3-Anantnag-Rajouri Parliamentary Constituency. The polling will take place in the Constituency on May 7, 2024 between 07:00 am to 06:00 pm.

“An election is to be held of a member of the House of People in 3-Anantnag-Rajouri Parliamentary Constituency. Nomination papers may be delivered by a candidate or by any of his proposers to the Returning Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Anantnag or to Assistant Returning Officer (Assistant Commissioner, Revenue) Anantnag at Deputy Commissioner Officer, Anantnag between 11:00 am and 03:00 pm on any day (other than public holiday) not later than the 19^th of April, 2024,” a notification issued by Returning Officer Syed Fakhr-ud-Din Hamid said.

It said that forms of nomination papers may be obtained at the place and time aforesaid. Also the nomination papers will be taken up for scrutiny at the office of Returning Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Anantnag on 20^th of April, 2024 at 10:00 am.

The notification added that the notice of withdrawal of candidature may be delivered either by a candidate or by any of his proposers or by his election agent who has been authorized in writing by the candidate to deliver it to either of the officers specified in paragraph (2) above at his office before 03:00 pm on the 22^nd of April, 2024. In the event of election being contested, the poll will be taken on 7^th of May, 2024, between the hours of 07:00 am and 06:00 pm.
