Authorities inspect Srinagar-Katra track ahead of Vande Bharat train inaugural run

Banihal, April 4: The Northern Railway and USBRL officials today inspected the railway track stretch from Srinagar to Katra before the scheduled inauguration of Vande Bharat train by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 19.

Officials inspected the railway track and other facilities from Srinagar to Katra in a special inspection rail car.

The inspection team was led by GM Northern Railway Ashok Kumar Verma. He also reviewed the arrangements for the Vande Bharat train inauguration at major railway stations between Srinagar and Katra .

Railway sources said GM Northern Railway undertook an inspection of the railway track, and the inspection train run was carried out from Srinagar to Katra. Railway sources said the top official also reviewed arrangements at several railway stations for the inauguration ceremony of the Kashmir rail service scheduled to be held on April 19.

They said a Vande Bharat rail run is scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, but the time is not yet decided.

They said GM Northern Railway reached Srinagar yesterday for a one-day visit, and today he inspected railway infrastructure between the Srinagar and Katra sections of the Kashmir rail project. Verma is scheduled to return to Delhi this evening by air.

The special inspection railcar had crossed Sangaldan railway station when reports last came in.
