‘Attempts to weaken govt will fail’: Deputy CM J&K
Srinagar, Mar 17: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary today said that anyone attempting to weaken the elected government will fail, while assuring that police will thoroughly investigate the recent cases of missing persons found dead in Jammu and Kashmir.
“God is there to protect the elected government, and those try to weaken it will not succeed,” Choudhary told reporters in Srinagar.
Referring to incidents of missing persons in Kathua and Kulgam districts whose bodies were later found, deputy chief minister termed the incidents “unfortunate”.
"These incidents are regrettable and must be looked into. Since the police work under Lieutenant Governor, he will take note of the matter. The people of J&K are peace-loving, and such incidents should not happen again,” Choudhary stated as per JKNS.
He assured that police will investigate these deaths to uncover the truth, and anyone found guilty will face strict action.
"The government stands with the people for their protection. We will never tolerate a situation where people are killed and no action is taken. The Omar Abdullah-led government is here to protect the people and will always stand by them," Deputy Chief Minister Choudhary said.
