Aster DM Healthcare expands mobile medical fleet to 50 units
Srinagar, Jan 3: Aster DM Healthcare’s CSR arm launched two IoT-enabled mobile medical clinics in Srinagar and Kalaburagi, marking its 50th such unit across India, Middle East, and Africa. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar inaugurated the initiative aimed at providing free healthcare to underserved communities.
A statement said that the new mobile units, built on Ashok Leyland platforms, feature telemedicine capabilities, basic laboratory facilities, and specialist consultation services. This expansion is part of Aster’s strategic CSR partnership with Ashok Leyland, targeting an annual reach of 1 million patients by FY 2025-26.
Currently operating 31 mobile clinics across 14 Indian states, Aster Volunteers plans to add 10 more units in 2025, focusing on North India. The organization’s mobile medical services have already impacted 5.6 million lives over seven years, engaging 75,000 volunteers.
“This initiative combines technology with mobility to deliver high-quality care in remote locations,” said Vice President Dhankhar at the launch. Dr. Azad Moopen, Aster’s Founder & Chairman, emphasized their commitment to expanding healthcare access through advanced technologies and sustainable practices.
The event was attended by key executives including Alisha Moopen, Managing Director and Group CEO, and other senior management. Tennis official Prabal Pratap Singh Tomar has volunteered to support the initiative’s rural outreach.
