Assar accident | Doda police book owner of bus

Ramban, Nov 21: Doda police has registered a case against the owner of the bus that met with a fatal accident at Trungal, Assar in Doda district last week. Thirty nine passengers were killed and 17 others injured in the mishap.

A senior police officer said a case was registered against the owner of the bus for not properly following the procedures and traffic regulations being an owner of the bus.

He said a case FIR number 21 of 2023 under sections 279/337/304-A IPC was registered at Police Station Assar, Doda on the recommendations of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted after the accident to ascertain the cause of the mishap.

The officer said during the initial investigation it was found that the owner of passenger Bus Dheeraj Gupta son of Kundan Lal Gupta resident of Narwal Pain Satwari, Jammu failed to follow the procedures and traffic regulations.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by ASP, DySP, DAR, Doda are investigating the case.

Further investigation into the case is in progress, the officer added.
