Assam teen's body retrieved after four days from Jhelum

His body has been sent to SDH Bijbehara for medical and legal formalities, said an official.

Srinagar, Aug 17: Four days after drowning in river Jhelum, body of a 14-year-old boy from Assam was retrieved on Saturday, reports said.

Quoting an official news agency KNC reported that a rescue operation was launched on August 13 following the reports of a minor boy getting drowned in river Jhelum, while taking a bath at Donipora Sangam in south Kashmir's Anantnag.

"After several days of efforts, the body of the boy namely Muneer ul Islam, son of Babu Ali, from Tipu Mari Assam was retrieved," said the official.

"The body of the boy has been sent to SDH Bijbehara for medical and legal formalities," the official added.
