Srinagar, Oct 5: The aspirants for the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) constable posts on Saturday demanded extension in the date for submission of application forms.

The aspirants said that they were not able to submit the applications on time due to technical glitches in the website of Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB). They said the constable posts were advertised under advertisement Notification No. 01 of 2024 but numerous candidates were unable to complete the process before the deadline due to website malfunctioning.

"In past, it has been a regular practice for JKSSB to extend application deadline during recruitment drives but this time no such relief was granted to us," the aspirants said.

They said that they encountered significant technical issues during the final days of submission but the JKSSB failed to provide the usual extension which has left many aspirants distressed.

"We faced multiple technical problems while trying to submit the forms. Many of us tried repeatedly, but the website simply didn’t work, especially during the last few days," an aspirant said.

The candidates have expressed their frustration and said they have already submitted multiple grievances with both the JKSSB and the General Administration Department (GAD). "However, our concerns have been either ignored or met with unsatisfactory responses that fail to address our grievances," the aspirants said.

The aspirants said that their grievances have not been resolved, despite their ur efforts to highlight the website’s malfunctioning.

"We urge the authorities to intervene and grant an extension, which will give an opportunity the candidates to submit the applications forms for the post," the aspirants said.
