Aspirants allege AI-generated, leaked paper in JKPSC lecturer exam, commission rejects claims
Srinagar, Nov 14: Resentment is brewing among the aspirants of 10+2 lecturer posts of the School Education Department (SED) against the J&K Public Service Commission (JKPSC) for setting an “illogical” question paper for the English subject.
The examination for the English subject was conducted on November 9 of 2025.
The aspirants said the question paper was “abnormally” lengthy, saying that a question paper consisted of 40 pages, which appeared more of a booklet than a question paper.
“The duration for this lengthy paper was only two hours,” the aspirants said.
They also alleged that the question paper framed for the exam was set with the help of ChatGPT, leaving aspirants frustrated.
“We approached some of the subject experts regarding this issue, who were left surprised to see the question paper,” Nida, one of the aspirants, told Greater Kashmir.
Besides the aspirants, the subject experts also acknowledged the flaw in the question paper, saying that in the given two hours’ time, they can only attempt only half of the questions.
“The pattern of this paper is entirely different from what it used to be during previous years. Even the national level exam has a particular pattern which is designed to check the basic knowledge and comprehension of the subject unlike this paper which is more analytical,” the aspirants told Greater Kashmir.
The aspirants said that NET exams in all subjects held at the national level have a particular pattern which has evolved over time and was designed by the experts.
“Paper set for NET is a standard model to judge the ability of the students. but this English paper of JKPSC is a unique model which is at variance with the standard model of any exams,” the aspirants complained to Greater Kashmir.
The students alleged that the question was leaked days before the scheduled date of exam.
Meanwhile, an official at JKPSC told Greater Kashmir that allegations of a question paper leaked before exams were baseless. “The issue about paper leak is raised before the exam is conducted not after the exam,” a member of JKPSC told Greater Kashmir.
He said that the question paper having all MCQs cannot be lengthy because it is a subject-specific exam in which the paper is framed by subject experts.
“But if the aspirants have complaints of wrong questions or wrong options given for any question, those complaints can be examined by the experts,” he said.
He further said that the aspirants can submit a written representation to JKPSC which will be examined by the experts.
