Srinagar, Sep 8: The Asmita Khelo India City League wrapped up Monday at the Synthetic Rugby Field, Polo Ground, with 22 teams from across Jammu and Kashmir delivering electrifying performances that celebrated women’s sports and resilience.

As per a statement issued, the opening and closing ceremonies were led by Abhinav Sharma, Deputy Director, Sports Authority of India (SAI), who presided as the Chief Guest. The Guests of Honour included Zulfiqar Ahmad, SAI Coach, SAI Centre Srinagar; Mohd Shafi, Secretary General of J&K Rugby; Irfan Aziz Botta, Chief Coach of J&K Rugby; and Aadil Manzoor, internationally acclaimed athlete. Their presence inspired the athletes and gave a strong message of support for women’s sports development in the region.

Sharing competition result details, in the U-15 girls category, Baramulla stormed to gold, while Kupwara fought valiantly to secure silver.

In the U-18 girls category, Srinagar outshone the rest to clinch gold, as Bandipora earned silver after a close contest.

In the senior women category, Srinagar stamped their dominance with a commanding gold, while Pulwama battled their way to silver.
