Ask the Doctor
Q: I feel tired all the time even after sleeping well. Why could that be?
A: Persistent fatigue can stem from stress, anemia, thyroid imbalance, or vitamin deficiencies. Eat balanced meals, hydrate well, get sunlight, and check your blood tests to rule out hidden causes.
Q: Is it okay to use painkillers for frequent headaches?
A: Occasional use is fine, but frequent painkiller use can cause “rebound headaches.” Identify triggers like dehydration, eye strain or poor sleep and check blood pressure. If headaches persist, get evaluated.
Q: I love energy drinks. Are they safe?
A: Not really. They spike heart rate and blood pressure due to caffeine and sugar. Opt for natural energy boosters like fruit, nuts and proper sleep instead.
Q: Can constant earphone use damage hearing?
A: Yes. Prolonged loud listening can cause permanent hearing loss. Follow the 60:60 rule—listen at 60% volume for no more than 60 minutes at a stretch.
Q: I get bloated after every meal. What could be wrong?
A: Common culprits are fast eating, carbonated drinks, or lactose intolerance. Eat slowly, avoid processed foods and get checked for food sensitivities.
Q: Does skipping dinner help with weight loss?
A: No. It can slow metabolism and cause overeating later. A light, early dinner with protein and fiber works far better.
Q: My teenage son spends most of his time gaming on computer and skips meals. Should I worry?
A: Yes. Excessive gaming disrupts eating, sleep, and mood. Encourage balanced screen time, outdoor activity and regular meals.
Q: Can perfumes and deodorants cause allergies?
A: Some contain chemicals that irritate skin or airways. If you get rashes or sneezing, switch to hypoallergenic or fragrance-free products.
Q: Is it bad to sleep right after eating?
A: Yes. Lying down immediately slows digestion and can cause acidity. Wait at least 1–2 hours after meals before sleeping.
Q: I always feel thirsty. Is it just dehydration?
A: Maybe, but persistent thirst can indicate diabetes or kidney issues. If it continues despite good hydration, get your blood sugar checked.
