Ashura procession taken out in Sumbal

Bandipora, July 17: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Shakeel ul Rehman on Wednesday participated in the Ashura procession held at Sumbal sub-division of Bandipora district.

During the procession, DC along with SSP Lakshay Sharma and SDM Sumbal Aamir Choudhary, served water and refreshments to the mourners. The procession honours the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS).

Community leaders and mourners expressed gratitude to the administration for ensuring quality arrangements and appreciated the District Administration for their support.

Pertinent to mention, the District Administration ensured meticulous arrangements, including adequate medical facilities, continuous water and power supply, and robust security measures to ensure the smooth conduct of the processions.
