Srinagar, Jan 29: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) General Secretary Ashok Koul on Thursday criticised Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, accusing the NC led government of being disconnected from ground realities during a severe snowfall across Kashmir.

Speaking at a BJP workers’ convention in Bandipora, Koul alleged that while large parts of the Valley were grappling with blocked roads, power outages and disruption of essential services, the Chief Minister was seen skiing in Gulmarg instead of monitoring relief and restoration work.

As per the press release, during the meeting, Ashok Koul launched a sharp criticism on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, questioning his “commitment to the people who voted for him”. "CM should be available to his people who voted for him and granted a huge mandate to the National Conference," Koul stated. He expressed disappointment over what he described as the Chief Minister's indifference to the suffering of people across the Valley during these crisis times.

Koul further stated, "Now people have understood that their votes were just visas of luxury for their leadership they voted." He said the ruling dispensation has failed to address public grievances effectively.

Koul addressed the  district level meeting cum workshop and spoke on “Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission (Gramin)”  VB–GRAM G and later an organisational meeting with the district team at Bandipora.
