Aryans Law students present sketches to Law Minister
Srinagar, Apr 6: Law students from Aryans College of Law, Rajpura, presented handmade sketches to dignitaries at the 4th Memorial Lecture commemorating Justice Madan Mohan Punchhi, 28th Chief Justice of India, held at Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Minister of Law Arjun Ram Meghwal was the Chief Guest, while Justice Arun Palli, Judge, Punjab & Haryana High Court, served as Guest of Honour. Over 100 Aryans BA-LLB & LLB students participated in the event.
The memorial lecture, themed "Tackling the challenges created by artificial intelligence through the existing legal framework," was organized by Compete Foundation under Sanjay Tandon and Satyam Tandon.
In his address, Meghwal traced industrial evolution from industry 1.0 to 4.0, discussing the emergence of cloud computing, robotics, Internet of Things (IoT), and 3D printing. He cited examples from The French Revolution, BR Ambedkar, and Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar in guiding constitutional integration of AI into society.
Justice Arun Palli highlighted existing legal tools available to address AI challenges and potential gaps requiring attention. He emphasized the legal system's role in accommodating rapid AI technology growth while ensuring fairness, transparency, and accountability.
Legal author Dr. Shruti Bedi noted that AI could help address India's backlog of over 4.5 crore pending cases.
