Srinagar, June 12: In a major initiative to boost employment and connect local talent with academic opportunities, Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh, organised a job fest at Iqbal Institute of Technology & Management (IITM), Hyderpora, Srinagar.

A statement issued here said that the event witnessed participation from hundreds of job aspirants across Jammu and Kashmir.

The recruitment drive aimed to hire faculty members from Jammu & Kashmir to teach students from the region who are enrolled at Aryans Group. The fest was jointly inaugurated by Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges, and Prof Abdul Ganie, Director, IITM.

Kataria said Aryans Group has a large student population from Jammu & Kashmir, and the institution is committed to creating opportunities for the region’s youth by also hiring faculty from the same background. He added that 50 per cent of the current faculty at Aryans are already from Jammu & Kashmir.

Applications were received for various departments, including Computer Science, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Law, Nursing, Pharmacy, Medical Lab Sciences, and allied health sciences like Radiology, Anaesthesia, and Cardiac Care. Following a round of interviews, 25 candidates were shortlisted.

Prof Abdul Ganie lauded the Aryans Group for bringing such an opportunity to the doorstep of local youth and encouraged job seekers to make full use of recruitment drives like this.

Established in 2007, Aryans Group of Colleges is situated on the Chandigarh–Patiala highway and has grown into a preferred destination for students from Jammu & Kashmir. Spread over 20 acres, the pollution-free campus offers programs in engineering, law, pharmacy, business, education, and nursing.
