Srinagar, Mar 7:  Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh and White Globe in association with Govt College of Education, Srinagar organised Lal Ded Excellence Awards to honour women super achievers in different categories at Govt College of Education & Institute of Advanced studies in Education, Srinagar.

Around 50 women were honoured with the excellence awards.

Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group was the chief guest while Prof Seema Naz Principal, GCOE, IASE, Srinaga; Adv. Syed Junaid Sadaat Chairman, White Globe; Adv Sheikh Saba Trustee, White Globe were guests of honour.

Dr Anshu Kataria while congratulating all awardees said that this women’s excellence awards ceremony was organised to confer awards to high achievers from various fields of life in order to recognize their contribution to society. He mentioned that Aryans Group, Chandigarh is always a step ahead to honour and support every woman. Women have a key role in the development of the nation, Kataria said.

Dr Seema Naz mentioned that “our women are second to none in terms of talent and ability.” “Many women have excelled in various fields of life and we feel proud of them. Today we are also celebrating International Women’s Day, which is celebrated globally on 8th March. We were absolutely overwhelmed to honour all women from different categories.”

Adv. Syed Junaid Sadaat and Adv. Sheikh Saba mentioned that Lal Ded, also known as Lalleswari Devi or Lalla Arifa is considered the founding mother of Kashmiri literature. She has played a very potent role in saving and maintaining the cultural heritage of the valley so the award ceremony has been held to commemorate her contribution to Kashmiri literature.
