Aryans Group celebrates International Yoga Day with wellness workshop
Srinagar, June 21: Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, near Chandigarh, celebrated International Yoga Day on June 21 with a yoga workshop, aligning with the 2025 theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” which emphasises the connection between individual and planetary well-being.
As per the statement issued by the student coordinators of Aryans Sports Club, yoga is an ancient Indian practice dating back 5,000 years. It promotes harmony of the mind, body, and soul, while helping to combat stress, anxiety, and depression, contributing to overall health and well-being.
During the workshop, students participated in sessions demonstrating various yoga asanas, including Padmasana, Halasana, Sukhasana, Naukasana, Vrikshasana, Tadasana, and Bhujangasana.
The International Day of Yoga was officially recognised by the United Nations in 2014, following a proposal by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to acknowledge yoga’s global relevance and benefits.
