Srinagar, Jan 15: A special cultural program was organised as a precursor to Republic Day, 2025 celebrations by the Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages in collaboration with The Kashmir Music Club, Srinagar.

The event, held at Pt. Bhajan Sopori Auditorium, Polo View, aimed to promote nationalism, peace, and brotherhood through the medium of art and culture.

The event was attended by Nasir Aslam Wani, Advisor to the Chief Minister while Farooq Ahmad Shah, MLA Gulmarg was the guest of honour.

Speaking at the event, Nasir Aslam Wani emphasised the importance of cultural programs in fostering unity and patriotism. He highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting the artists of Jammu and Kashmir and preserving the region’s rich cultural heritage.

Farooq Ahmad Shah expressed his gratitude to the organisers for holding a well-orchestrated event despite the challenging winter conditions. He lauded the efforts of the organisers for their dedication to promote art and culture.

Shakeel ul Rahman, Divisional Head of the Academy, delivered the welcome address, reaffirming the Academy’s commitment to preserving and promoting authentic art forms and providing support to deserving artists across J&K.

Renowned artist, art promoter, and Chairman of The Kashmir Music Club Srinagar, Waheed Jeelani, who played a pivotal role in organising the event, presented the vote of thanks. He extended gratitude to Harvinder Kour, Secretary of the Academy, and the academy staff for their cooperation for the event.

The program featured mesmerising performances by veteran Kashmiri artists, including MA Shakhsaz, GA Sofi, Qaisar Nizami, Aja Rah, Munir Ahmad Mir, Waheed Jeelani, Shahi Mumtaz, and others. The artists captivated the audience with patriotic songs, adding fervor and enthusiasm to the Republic Day celebrations.
