Arrangements made on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway for devotees
Ramban, June 12: Arrangements have been made on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway for the Mela Kher Bhawani devotees.
Security has been beefed up along the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway including the Chenani -Nashri and Banihal Qazigund tunnels on Wednesday.
Deployment of additional central security forces has been made in this direction. Divisional administration and district police have made adequate security arrangements by strengthening police and paramilitary forces at check posts and bottlenecks on the highway from Nashri Chanderkote Ramban Ramsu Banihal and Banihal Qazigund tunnel to avoid any inconvenience to the devotees and to prevent traffic snarls near the four-lane work sites between Nashri and Banihal where the construction work is going on.
The district administration also made arrangements like health facilities provisions for boarding lodging in case of a halt or road blockade at Ramban Ramsu and Banihal for the convenience of pilgrims. The National Highway is being watched carefully and patrols on the highway have increased by police and paramilitary forces.
Wednesday morning, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar flagged off the convoy of devotees mostly Kashmiri Pandits from Nagrota Jammu towards Ganderbal Kashmir in SRTC buses amid tight security cover.
On reaching Ramban, the district administration welcomed Shri Mata Kheer Bhawani Ji Yatra, at Ramban where the District Commissioner Ramban, Basheer Ul Haq Choudary, Senior Superintendent of Police Ramban, Anuj Kumar and other officers received the devotees at Chanderkote.
While wishing the devotees a comfortable journey the officers advised them to follow all guidelines to enjoy their spiritual journey.
The Deputy Commissioner along with officers also interacted with the devotees to have first-hand information regarding the facilities at the community Langar.
