Arrangements for smooth counting process finalised in Shopian

Shopian, Oct 7: The District Election Office, Shopian, has made all necessary arrangements in accordance with ECI guidelines to ensure a smooth and hassle-free counting process for the Zainapora and Shopian assembly constituencies.

The counting halls set up for each Assembly Constituency at the Mini Secretariat, Shopian, are equipped with essential facilities and adequately staffed for the counting process.

Ten counting counters have been established in each Assembly Constituency, staffed by Counting Supervisors, Assistants, and Micro Observers to ensure the smooth and timely completion of the counting process. Separate counters for postal ballots and ETPBS have also been set up. The entire counting process will be monitored by Counting Observers appointed by the ECI.

CCTV and videography provisions have also been made available, along with a sufficient number of data entry staff and IT equipment to ensure timely updates of the results.

A media centre has been established to facilitate authorised media personnel with timely updates on the counting process through PAS announcements and LED displays.

Like the updates on voting day, the administration will also broadcast round-wise results of the counting process through Municipal Council screens across the town for the information of the general public.

Proper seating arrangements have been made for contesting candidates and counting agents.

To ensure all arrangements are in place, the DEO of Shopian visited the counting halls and media centre to review the arrangements.
