Ganderbal, Oct 5: The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) of Ganderbal, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, convened a meeting today to finalise arrangements for the counting of votes scheduled for October 8.

The meeting, held at the DC Office, was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Gulzar Ahmad, the Returning Officer (RO) for the Ganderbal Assembly Constituency, the Deputy District Election Officer (DyDEO), the Chief Planning Officer, the District Informatics Officer from NIC, and other senior officials.

The ADDC conducted a detailed review of arrangements, including water supply, electricity, medical facilities, sanitation, security, staff deployment, the establishment of a Media Centre, and other related preparations. He stressed the need for strict compliance with the Election Commission of India (ECI) guidelines to ensure a transparent and smooth counting process.

The Returning Officers were instructed to promptly inform all candidates and their representatives of the exact date, time, and venue for the counting of votes. Appropriate signage will be displayed, and all counting rooms will be notified in advance.

The Executive Engineer of KPDCL has been directed to ensure an uninterrupted power supply at the venue, along with the availability of backup generators.

Similarly, the Jal Shakti department will arrange for water tankers and install water dispensers to meet the venue's requirements.

The Municipal Committee will ensure adequate toilet facilities and sanitation measures at the counting center.

A dedicated Media Centre will be established under the supervision of the District Information Officer. The center will feature a public address system and an LCD screen to display real-time election results.
