Army soldier dies; another injured in Poonch accident

Poonch, Jan 16: An army soldier deployed in the Poonch area lost his life while another sustained injuries in a road accident at Kassalian on Tuesday evening.

The accident, officials said, occurred when an army water tanker fell in a gorge at Chira Wala Morh, Kassalian in Poonch this evening.

“Two army personnel were injured in the accident. They were shifted to army hospital where one of the injured succumbed,” officials said.

Police said that the injured soldier was under treatment in the Army Hospital.

The deceased soldier has been identified as driver Pritam Singh.
