Army soldier dies, 3 injured in Manjakote accident
Rajouri, Sep 17: An army soldier lost his life while three others sustained injuries after a Bullet Proof (BP) vehicle they were travelling in plunged in roadside gorge.
The accident happened on Tuesday late evening at Mirza Morh in Manjakote area of Rajouri district.
Officials said that a convoy of army vehicles was on way to Manjakote from Bhimber Gali when one of the light BP vehicle plunged in gorge at Mirza Morh.
They said that four army personnel were injured in this accident with locals of the area rushed to the accident site and started rescue operation which was joined by police and army teams. The injured army personnel were evacuated from the accident site and taken to nearby health facility from where they were referred to Army medical facility in Rajouri.
They said that one of the injured army personnel succumbed to injuries while two of them have been have been shifted to a higher Army medical facility with condition of both of them is stated to be critical.
“GOC White Knight Corps and all ranks express deepest condolences to the family of Lance Naik Baljeet Singh, the braveheart who lost his life in a tragic road accident near Manjakote, Rajouri during counter insurgency duty,” White Knight Corps said, in its condolence post on ‘X.’
