Army schools, KVs in Jammu, along Pathankot highway closed till July 28
Jammu, July 25: Amid rising security concerns in the wake of spurt in terror activities, the authorities Thursday closed all Army schools and Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) in Jammu, besides those situated along Jammu-Pathankot National Highway till July 28 or till further orders.
Teachers will conduct online classes during this period. Officially no such order was issued in public domain, however, parents of the students were conveyed this by the school authorities. Many parents did confirm receiving such notices from the school authorities early this morning. However, the notices did not mention any security concern or any other reason.
Initially it was stated that army schools and KVs inside the cantonments would remain closed from July 25 to 27. July 28, being Sunday, is already a holiday.
However, in the evening, sources pointed out that all army schools and KVs in Jammu would remain closed till further orders.
“Online classes, however, will continue to ensure that studies don’t get disrupted,” sources added. As per the parents, the school management mentioned about the latest instructions from the competent authorities, while notifying the closure of schools from July 25 to 27 or till further orders.
“Notices did mention that during this period, the teachers would conduct online classes and an updated time-table would be shared shortly,” few parents shared.
