Army rescues stranded students, staff members of Rajasthan Law College in Banihal
Banihal, Feb 22: Indian army rescued several stranded students and staff members of Rajasthan Law College after they were trapped in Banihal area of Srinagar-Jammu highway due to landslide, shooting stones and heavy snowfall.
Showing exemplary service and courage the army rescued panicked students and other staff members of Law College of Mohan Lal Shukhadia University, Udaipur (Rajasthan).
Heavy snowfall and roadblocks caused due to landslide by inclement weather on February 21 left many commuters stranded along the treacherous NH44 highway. Among them were 7 staff members and 74 students of Law College of Mohan Lal Shukhadia University, Udaipur, Rajasthan who found themselves caught in the storm.
Recognizing the critical urgency of the situation, Army camp Banihal prioritised their evacuation, ensuring their safety and well-being. They provided stranded staff and students with medical assistance, food and warm shelter.
Dr. Kalpesh Nikawat, Principal Law College expressed his gratitude to the Indian Army for their swift and decisive action. He commended their unwavering dedication to serving the nation and its citizens, highlighting their valor and readiness to face any challenge.
