Army rescues pregnant woman amid snowfall in Langate
Kupwara, Feb 1: The Army’s 30 RR on Thursday rescued a pregnant woman amidst heavy snowfall in Monabal, Langate area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
“At 11:30 am, the local Army unit received a distress call from Manzoor Ahmad Khan, husband of a pregnant woman, requesting for urgent rescue and medical evacuation of his wife who was in critical condition,” an Army official said. “Due to heavy snowfall, Monabal road was completely blocked. Realising the critical situation, the rescue team and medicos from Haril Army camp immediately responded to the distress call.”
He said despite heavy snow, the rescue team reached the location on time following which the pregnant woman was shifted to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Lanagte.
The Army official said that the family of the woman thanked the Army’s 30 RR for quickly coming to their rescue and saving the woman’s life.
