Srinagar, Oct 27: Army Public School Nagrota celebrated its annual day today  with great pomp and splendor.

The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Lt Gen Navin Sachdeva , GOC 16 Corps and Senior Patron APS Nagrota, as the Chief Guest, and Maj Gen. Shailendra Singh, CoS HQ 16 Corps and Patron APS Nagrota, as the Guest of Honour.

The programme commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by a mesmerising welcome dance that set the tone for the evening. The Principal of APS Nagrota, Ruchi Bahl, presented a comprehensive annual report highlighting the school’s academic achievements, co-curricular activities, and infrastructural developments.

A captivating lineup of cultural performances enthralled the audience. The highlight of the evening was the Nritya Natika, depicting the mythological tale of Samudra Manthan, showcasing the students’ artistic prowess and dedication. The event also recognised and rewarded academic excellence, with prizes distributed to the top performers in the Class 10 Board exams.

Additionally, students were felicitated for their outstanding achievements in sports at both cluster and national levels. The best house was declared, and the Captain, Vice Captain, and teacher in-charges were also honoured.

In his address, the Chief Guest commended the school for its holistic approach to education and its commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals. He inspired the students to strive for excellence in all their endeavors and to uphold the values of discipline, hard work, and integrity.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by  Avinash Mahajan, Vice Principal of the school, followed by the National Anthem.
